Hello everyone,
ThePatternShare.com is designed to be an online resource to create and share patterns. It is based on the idea that users can put in their own measurements and have the pattern shapes tailored to their specifications.
I'm still very early in the development, and I would love for everyone to come check out the site and give me feedback on where it should go. Right now there are several "blocks" based on the great resources over at Burda Style.
You can check out the site here:
http://thepatternshare.com/
Like I said, I'm still very early in this process so check back often to see progress!
I can't wait to hear back from everyone.

Justin Couch

One important note: It has trouble with Internet Explorer. I'm working on this bug. Until I figure it out, I would recommend using Firefox.

It's very neat. Do you have a FAQ of what all those measurements are? Like the waist to hip? Is that the ratio?

I don't have a FAQ like that yet. It is definitely in the works. The measurement that you asked about is just a vertical linear measurement. How far from the waist line to the hip line. As shown in this image:

I'll be putting stuff like this up soon on the site.
Thanks for checking it out and keep checking in for improvements!

Hey!

This looks really neet.

So for now if you put in the basic measurements it asks, it will create the basic block for you?

I like it a lot.

Hello everyone,
I've just released the first version of my first pattern using my new pattern share software. It is a shaped t-shirt made for either men or women.

You can find it here: http://thepatternshare.com/
Then click on the Tailored T-Shirt image.

The pattern uses the following measurements: neck, chest, waist, hips, back width, chest width, armscye, armscye depth, nape to waist, wait to hip (linear), shoulder, shirt length, and sleeve length (full arm length).
It also contains an ease measurement. 0 is no ease (obviously), 10 is loose.
In the following images, the male shirt has an ease of 4, the female has an ease of 2.

I'm working on getting some more images up and a tutorial on how to use the system, but I wanted to post it up here and see what people thought, about the pattern and also about the website and its possibilities.
