After waiting a LONG time, my husband is finally moving up to Alaska with me! I found a nice little apartment and spent two weeks getting everything ready. I had been living for two years in army barracks, which are really ugly and you can't use your own furniture. When I finally got a plan to bring my husband up here with me I just went crazy. I love interior design... I get depressed living in a boring or ugly place. Anyone else feel the same? I have to feel inspired when I walk into my home.

My mom got us a super cute chevron area rug from Urban Outfitters. The love seat was a hand-me-down and the pillows were on clearance! Score. I thrifted the coffee table, the leaf plate, vintage brass lamp and the vintage globe lamp as well.

I love our little bar area.

I did the paintings myself.

Since we are both from New York I did a little stencil of the Empire State Building.

I found this Samurai curtain at a thrift shop! I just love it!

The most expensive thing in the living room is this shelf from Target. I couldn't help myself, it looks so cool. I hope you like! I haven't finished the bedroom so I'll post it after it's all done  Smiley

I love this!

That rug really makes the space look so funky and active, and the paintings you did fill up the wall splendidly.

I'm in the Navy so my husband and I end up moving every three years. In the two years we've been in our current apartment I still haven't managed to make it look half as good as this.

Good luck finally getting to live together!

What a great space you've got! Smiley I especially like the rug and the owls - both the ones on the paintings and the one on the pillow. The room looks really together. Nice job!

Amazing! You really have an eye for this. By the way, my boyfriend and I have two of that exact shelf from Target. Doesn't it look great?
