How did you do those handles? Do they require a special tool? I really want one of the tools that puts the snaps and rivets on. I am going to havet to add whatever you did there to my list of wants!  Wink
I like the style and that blue fabric. Very pretty. I would have never guessed you made it. Looks professional!

Sorry been awol for a bit.. no tools, the each handle is two pieces a bag and front with prongs that bend on one piece and a groove on the other piece of the bent prongs. So you just cut a hole a tiny bit bigger than the handle hole and install the handle.. I'm trying to recall where I bought them but it was a long time ago..

All the recent bags posted are so great.. so creative..handpainted, customized, crochet.. talented ladies!

Here are a couple recent ones of mine

A messenger bag from a pattern I was testing for a blogger, Charmed Liebling

A backpack based on a pattern from ChrisW Designs (her Evelyn bag was popular here I think).  I modifed it to suit my son's needs

Your messenger bag and backpack are great Hax! What material is the backpack out of? Looks like the vinyl stuff, which I have neer had the nerve to sew with. Both are awesome. Love the backpacks print!

Thanks!  The backpack is a laminated cotten.  First time working with it..wasn't too bad, but had to use my walking foot attachment since it's a bit "sticky" I guess like faux leather/leather so the walking foot worked well.

Nice work, hax! Both bags are pretty.

I like your backpack very much, roomy and fun!

I got some pretty fabric for my birthday to sew a nice bag... But I haven't got that much time to sew. I did make me a nice sleeve for my ipad mini, will have to take pics and post that here.

I made this purse for the IYP swap. I had an AMAZING partner in SmileyYogini. This was the first time I have ever done a purse that was "floppy". The interfacing wasn't stiff like I am used to so I was nervous as I made it. Think it turned out pretty good. It was a neat experience to try something different.

I have another simple purse I made for another swap that I will post up as soon as they receive it. THEN the holiday sewing begins. I suspect this board will be getting busier soon with that!!!

Hey alwaysinmyroom, the pattern is by noodlehead. The 241 Tote. I added the link below. It was $8
http://www.noodle-head.com/2011/03/241-tote-pattern.html
Post up if you make it! It had two versions. One has front zippers. I'd love to see it with different colors/patterns!

Wow wendiek, all those tiny symbols look like they took forever! Shocked  Very cute.
