Wow, wendiek, that bag is gorgeous!  Cheesy  And I think you can do it - just take it one step at a time. Cheesy

And we're glad to have you liliv-1!  There's no official start date - just tell us what you're making and share inprogress pics along the way and link us to the final product on the Purses, Bags, and Wallets page!

Also, I think I'm going to make a bag from Emma Brennan's Making Vintage Bags.

It's a 1920s inspired mini clutch with an asymmetrical flap and a grosgrain rosette.  I'll see if I can get a pic of page to show you all.  They suggest faux suede, but I think I'll go with cotton to make it less dressy.

I'd like to join,  right now I'm making a duffle bag with Chinesse Brocade for work, but I'd like to make a coordinating purse and alter a purchased wallet to match as well.  Hope to start in the next few weeks.

Thanks for the support ladies!
Kookie: I like to use cotton. It's available in so many different colours and patterns. As long as the interfacing is heavy, the bag will become sturdy. The book says to use mid-weight Home Dec. But I don't want fabric that is quite thick, it makes sewing hell!  Wink

What a lovely bag!
I think I will end up listing way too many cute, fancy, pretty and cool bags joining you here!  Roll Eyes

I think I'll join too Smiley

I've started planning for two everyday clutches with totes; I plan to roll up the totes and keep them in the clutches so if I end up shopping or going to the library I can carry more but when I leave the house in the morning I don't have too much on me. I'm also making an evening clutch which I'm looking forward too.

Looking forward to seeing what we all come up with, will post fabric pictures soon!

I have some lovely home dec samples that I'm most likely going to use for mine.
I did manage to order a Amy Butler book from the library but I don't think it's the same one you have  Roll Eyes I'll still enjoy it when it arrives though  Grin

I've been and had a broken tooth extracted this morning and need to distract myself from the pain so I will be sorting through my fabrics and bits & pieces this afternoon and possibly making a decision on which bag to make first  Wink

Ooh! This looks like something that I need to do. I buy patterns ALL the time but after we moved my sewing room turned into a closet. Okay, It's not a closet but with all my fabric and crafts shoved in there it might as well be. I can't have my ironing board and my sewing chair out at the same time.  Embarrassed  Very frustrating! But I just finished a purse for a swap! My first in FOREVER and I said I would make some more to be ready for gift giving (b-days and Christmas).

I found two purse patterns in my supplies although I don't know if they are actually intact  Embarrassed I have some lovely shimmery curtain fabric with a dandelion pattern that I like the look of for a purse or some linen with a branch & leafy kind of print although I only have a small piece of that and the print is quite large. Decisions,decisions...
