hax-awesome how versatile the swirly bag is
and the pattern for the other one is really cool. With internal tubular frame you mean the closure, right?

Love that bag Hax! I have never done anything with that sort of closure. Is it hard? I may have to try it once it's released. I think it's awesome!
Alas, there is always one more pattern I need to try! LOL!

I like that versatile bag!  Sometimes I want to leave my huge bag behind and just grab a small clutch...very nice!

Thanks!

Yes the tubular frame is the closure.. looks like this

I really like it, it holds the bag open really wide and closes snugly.. Very easy to use.. It just goes into a casing sewn on the bag.  I will post when she releases the pattern

I will be making another small crossbody next.  Need to get going on designing it..

I am wondering how the frame goes into the casing because it does not seem to be open. Or is it detachable?

She is showing it closed--see the ends? They are hinges..it sort of works on the same principal as the metal tape measure closures...imagine the hinges pointed down and the two bars at the top to open..

one bags that I make, I leave the hinges exposed sewing up the sides of the lining and leaving a small gap, then sewing the rest of the way up the sides...when you fold the top over the frame, the hinges fit snugly into the little gap...

I am curious to see how hax does it as I like this type of bag closure!

Ok, I will admit that it has taken me a while, but I have finally finished the bag I set out to do about page 9.

Will upload a photo tomorrow - not the most technically accomplished and clever bag ever made, but 'tis mine and will replace the rather un-chic carrier bag I've been using for my gym kit.

Yeah, the frame is closed in that photo.. when opened it looks like a rectangle

The tubular frame comes apart at the hinge.  There are screws to undo it.. each side gets slid into a casing you sew at the top of the bag.then you screw it back to together.. The hinges are exposed if you look at the side you'll see the metal hinge
