What a cute design!  It will look so sweet in those colors!

How many purses do you make in a year?  You seem to enjoy making them! Cheesy

I enjoy sewing in general!!! Don't you?Huh?
I hope it will be a cute purse, though it is a little simple .... but I choose this style because I' ve already made it. I' m not very good at purse-making.  I usually sew clothes, the purses are my latest passion.
I have always the same problem with the purses I make: they look ok at first, but when I fill them with stuff they don' t have the same shape:))))) Do you have anything to suggest?

I find that it usually helps to have a) a very sturdy fabric, like vinyl or something kind of heavy and b) to create a rectangular bottom, that way you avoid the bag bulging weirdly once you put all your things in it. (And I have a tendency to stuff my bags, so I need all the help I can get :p)

I have used plastic canvas stuff on the bottom...removeable so the bag can be washed if needed, but really, I get tired of my bag before it needs washing Cheesy

I really like those slouchy bags with the round bottom since you can stuff a lot in them without looking weird and bulgey!

I am definitely going to pick out a fabric tonight...too much sewing, too little time! Cheesy

Alternatively a stable bottom can be made out of cardboard and duct-tape, if you haven't got some kind of fancy stabilizer. In that case just layer it between the outer shell and the lining for the prettiest result.

alwaysinmyroom: the round bottom must be a lovely idea! I' ll try it
Lille: The idea of the duct-tape and the cardboard is brilliant!!! I have heard for the cardboard, but I didn't like this solution  because I was afraid it would loose its shape.... but with the duct-tape it's different!!! Thaaaanks!!!!

I have used the super thick interfacing for a purse bottom once and it did great keeping the shape. I have been worried about using the cardboard or plastic, feels too much like something I could mess up quickly.

Wendiek - that is too funny! Dude!!! I would LOVE to hear Gozer used in a conversation. Hahaha!

I want to join in!

I will be making a denim purse from a pair of jeans. I've had the fabric for the lining, the jeans, and handles foreve, just never put it together - this will be just the kick in the rear motivation I need to work on it!

texscrapper, most of the bags I make are from old jeans  Cheesy I joined this to try and push me to make something other than denim ones but haven't made any decisions yet  Roll Eyes

love the duct tape and card idea for bag bases. I don't usually put any thing in the base.
