No, your eyes do not deceive you.  You are looking at Teen Girl Squad tea towels.  I've been very interested in embroidery lately (mostly as a way to justify watching television), and this is my first real project.  Ta da!

(For those of you who are completely lost, the Teen Girl Squad can be found at http://homestarrunner.com/tgsmenu.html)

Wow. I love. Those are great. For awhile I wanted to stencil a TGS shirt and you might have inspired me to embroider one instead. Awesome.

Oh my!  I've never heard of Teen Girl Squad, but from the looks of those cute little tea towels, I'm so clicking on that link.   Wink

Great job!

I am totally crushing.  ^_~

I still haven't quite figured out what tea towels are, or what they're used for (cleaning spilled tea...?), but I would definitely put TGS towels where everyne could see!

Ha ha! I LOVE TGS Squad! I also love Strongbad, what a gem of a character they created when they thought up him. Your embroidery is ridiculously awesome. I applaud and bow down to you. *grovel grovel* You've inspired me to take my love of all that is Homestarrunner to the streets and spread the word. And not pay for the merch... I would have many t-shirts were it not for maxed out credit card... I know nothing about embroidery, so how did you do it? Teach me sensai!

Heh... If you knew how much of an embroiderer I'm not, you wouldn't be saying that.  I just bought some tea towels at my friendly neighborhood Hobby Lobby.  Then I found some pics of each of the Girls on the internet, and traced/free-handed them onto the tea towels with pencil.  Then I just stitched over the pencil (mostly with a split stitch).  Then came the real test -- throwing them in the washing machine to get the pencil out and see if they would actually stand up.  (They did -- yay!)

If I feel really ambitious, one of these days I'm taking on TROGDOR and Eh!Steve, vintage days-of-the-week style.   Cheesy
