Here is a hoop I made for the Classic TV Swap. This was my first go at crayon tinting and I am hooked! Enjoy!

Thanks for looking!

Oh my! What is crayon tinting, exactly? I assume it's going over the fabric with SOME sort of crayon, but do you need a special kind, could it be washed, etc.?

Also, nostalgia overload, squee! It's a very good likeness.  Cheesy

Thank you! The way I crayon tint is I transfer my image to the fabric and then color it in with regular crayola crayons. Then I embroider the outlines. I learned the hard way that if you embroider first and color second it does not end well. I don't know if it is washable as I've only done it with display hoops not embroidered pillowcases. There are quite a few tutorials on Pinterest.

What I love about this is the fabric is a white on white paisley print that showed through the tinted parts!

Thanks, kittykill and Macawmom!

Carbon paper. I'm still trying to figure out how to transfer onto dark fabrics though. The light colored "carbon" paper that is supposed to be made for dark fabric just makes a smudgy mess.
