I made one last Dia de los Muertos item tonight.  this time, it was a necklace!  it isn't the same skull or rose color as the item it's meant to go with, but I really don't care.  Cheesy  in case you haven't seen the other items, here is the bracelet (the red and turquoise one is mine), and here are the earrings.  now, here's the necklace!

I found the tiny rose beads at Michaels yesterday and I just fell in love with them!  they were 40% off and there were only 2 strands left, so of course I snapped them up!  the bead strands will be 50% off next week, so I'm hoping they get more in so I can buy more!!!  to create the rose crown, I just strung 4 roses, then just kept running my needle through them to create a circle of roses.  then, to keep it stable on a headpin, I stitched a 6 or 8/0 seed bead in the middle.  I just love this necklace!  I hope you do too!  Grin

That totally kicks butt!  Cheesy  I love the way the rose crown looks, that was a great idea.  Nothing better than finding a good bead sale when you have a project in mind!

Silver and turquoise are a favorite of mine- the red highlights really make it too!

Looking to de-stash cross stitch magazines, particularly Cross Stitch Gold or New Stitches?  Please drop me a line!  I'd love to swap or buy some missing from my library!

funny thing is, I didn't have a project in mind.  Cheesy  I just wanted the beads!

and thank you!  I was so excited when I came up with the idea for the crown and then came up with the idea for the curvy beads.

ever since I knew we were moving to AZ, I have been obsessed with turquoise.  and I'd seen a lot of jewelry made with turquoise and red beads, so I knew I had to create some of my own jewelry with those colors.  I think this is the only one I have.  but I love it.
