I've been looking for pot-shaped knitting patterns!  Yay!

Um... sorry but... that hat! What the hell!??? I want to laugh, and yet I'm slightly concerned that it wasn't meant as a joke... It's a joke, right???

i think if you look carefully youll find the crown of the hat is probably stuffed with something to keep it upright.
in reality it'd flop down all cute like.

i think it's cool. i like the lacy bottom bit.
It reminds of a similar 'stocking cap' for teenage girls i have in a pattern book from the early 60s.

eta: I REALLY don't like the bag. it reminds me of a TV ad here. The ad is for thrush medication, and I could never work out why it showed a woman in a pottery class who kept messing up the bowl she was making. Then a friend pointed out the symbolism of 'imperfect vessels' in an ad for pessaries. It's so dumb now i laugh every time. Anyway, the point is the bag reminds me of the pot/ bowl she suceeds in making after she takes the medication....
so i can only point and giggle hysterically. It's a perfect vessel bag.

When I saw that hat, I immediately thought of my dad. He's weird enough where he would dig that kind of thing, especially if I knit it in hot-pink.
