I reorganized my sewing space and discovered many pieces of fabric I don't even remember buying. One of them was a quite large piece of this beautiful red wool (I have no idea what the fabric is really called:)) and I immediately knew I have to use it for a winter dress. I had the pattern for this (http://www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns/102010-full-skirted-dress-with-cut-out-bustline) dress from Burda Style cut out from the year it came out, but never got to actually sewing it, so I knew I wanted to use it.

Because I didn't have enough fabric for the skirt part from the pattern I improvised a little (at first it was just a gathered skirt, but I looked pregnant in the dress) and ripped it apart a few times and tried diffrent things until it came out like this. I also let out the sleeves, because I knew I'm going to wear the dress over shirts, so I think it looks better like this. It kinda reminds me of a dirndl and I love it very very much. Can't wait to go out in it and drink some beer Wink

I forgot to tell my fiancée to zip me up before taking pictures, so here is a picture of the back with the zipper a little open:)

and a bonus picture of me jumping in it and our cute dog not knowing what's going on Smiley

It is so pretty, and looks so good on you. I understand you on the dirndl-thing - it reminds me of old books about the Alps...  Cheesy
