so i saw one of these on a website once, and i really wanted it, but it was like 50 dollars, and i figured since all i can afford to eat is dirt sandwiches, i had better just make it myself!

Basically you make a big grid foem foamcore and then put wax paper over it. Then tie that to your T.V. screen!

ohhh pretty!

sexy mood lighting!

let me know what you think!

I saw that done, but with a ton of toilet paper tubes.  it had a softer look to it, but this has a cooler, geometric look.  also, you wouldn't have to save TP tubes for a year.

I used foamcore (fome-cor is the name brand) on mine...did basically the same meg did.

Here's my reply to that same question on the other forum and while you're there you can see the other pixelators everyone's talking about

But let me get this straight, to make it you cut squares out of the foamcore and then cover those holes with wax paper???

Given some recent (very mean) post i have read about "copying" other work, i'm not sure if i should have even put this up here. I think the only difference between me copying this and the other thread i am talking about is that no one knows the designder who i copied this from. Unfortunately, the other girl who posted whatshe made, even with saying she copied it, got attacked by many "crafters" who were friends of this other designer. (it made me very mad)
And just so everyone knows, i did my best to find a link to post here for the original, but i couldnt find it.

This is pretty awesome and a good idea using stuff to make it yourself. I wonder if I could do this using fabric...like a muslin or light cotton woven stuff..
