The first half of my package has arrived! I hadn't expected the mail to come so soon, it's only 2 working days later My boyfriend apparently dragged the SD card along to his office, so pictures are coming later.

I received two beautiful brown tufted pillows for on the couch, and they fit our lounge perfectly They also smell really nice somehow, either you have really fragrant fabric softener, or my package was next to a shipment of soap =p Really curious to see what's in the second half too!

Postal services are funny, both of my packages were sent at the same time but they're arriving at different dates, makes you wonder about the logic, right? So, this is the first part of my package!

Awesome that you erm...got one half. doh! glad you liked the pillows. I was going to take credit for the lovely smell to them but i cant. i have no idea why they smell nice.
hope you get your second half tomorrow. figures crossed!
but anyway i am also as lucky as you to also get your gifts today!

First we have 6 lovely post cards (i don't even remember if i told you but i actually collect postcards ) which had 3 recipes written on the back and a little explination of why Naantje chose these specific ones.
i will have to give them a try one day


second is these pretty neat pot holders with crocheted cog wheels.
awesome awesome awesome.


third is this lovely red candle in which Naantje had carved a Cracken type creature with a plaque (left blank for my wedding date in the future) and Mine and my fiances name carved at the bottom.

Thank you Naantje. You have been fun crafting for and  pleased with what you have made for me. the pot holders will be put to good use for sure! i'm always hunting for a tea towel but now i have these beauties to protect my fingers ^_^

I hope you get the second half of the gifts soon.

Deathtolems--using screws for tufting on the pillows is brilliant. I love that idea.

Naantje--The carving on the candle is  beautiful and such a lovely item for their wedding. What an imaginative grouping. Potholders, dream catcher, postcards--I love how you've put a Steampunk flavor on such different items.

Love the screw head buttons on the pillows. How did you do that? And your candle carving skills are awesome, Naanje! I especially like the decoration of the top.

Okay, here's the surprise package I got from Danynn today. A surprise because it took less than two days to get here, and because I'd forgotten what kinds of things I had suggested to her.


These are very nice oven mitts, aren't they? "But not very Steampunk," you say. Don't be fooled; a colossal, dark horror lurks beneath this pleasant surface...


Tentacles!

And don't worry, Danynn - though they look a bit small, they fit me perfectly. Less bulky than the oversized ones I usually have.



And a matching bottle carrier! I'd said that I needed something to cover up my sadly unattractive water bottle, and this will certainly do the job. The design on the oven mitts is appliquéed, but this is stencilled on. Beautifully done, as is the machine-quilting, which you can't really see in this photo. I think it's lined with insulating material too, isn't it?



It's a good thing those were so spectacular, or they'd be totally upstaged by the box they came in! Completely covered in fabric, with a great gear design appliquéed on. But get a load of the inside:



Totally psychedelic! The bottom is like this too. I am in love with this fabric; I can imagine a duvet cover made of it.

Thanks so much for these great things, Danynn! They're beautifully made and just my style. I only hope you like what I've sent you half as much.

This will disappoint some ppl. But they aren't real screws. Although thats not a bad idea. They are actually split pins.
