I vote for fun-looking too...definitely go for creative colouring. You won't be able to make him look realistic anyway, so why not make a crazy cartoony squirrel? I don't know where you live (but I noticed your canadian spelling), but if you happen to live in Ottawa where they have mutant black squirrels maybe you should paint him really bright like a "scare-squirrel" and put him in your yard, keep those black squirrels away! Man, they're bold, and they can be vicious. Anyway, looking forward to seeing the results!

Nice work on the form. Just curious-- which came first, the idea to make a squirrel out of something or the idea to make something out of your lemonade bottle?
There is a population of black squirrels in La Crosse Wisconsin, too.  And no, I don't live there anymore

i do in fact live in ottawa. it was a long time before i learned that squirrels weren't black everywhere. i think i found out when i was like 14 *lol*

i saw the lemonade container and exclaimed (out loud at work) "i'm going to make a squirrel out of this!" and everyone stopped and stared at me like i was crazy. WELL WHO'S CRAZY NOW? *evil laughter*

Sad I was so used to my cute fuzzy brown squirrels in regina when i moved to ottawa i was sad Sad The black squirrels arent as cute unfortunatley. Its funny though because most of the people i now think all squirrels are black..

anyways concerning the actuall project i must say it is amazing!!

Actually, about the squirrels in Ottawa, for everyone who's never been there, it isn't just that they're black, it's that they're HUGE, almost the size of small cats. And very bold. And well-adapted to city life...they freaked me out a little.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to seeing the cyborg-squirrel!

i know this is an oldish thread, but i just had to say...
i think those giant black squirrels ARE mutants. because i've seen them in winnipeg and vancouver and ottawa... and no where else (yet).i think they only grow in cities. where the water is all... mutant-izing.
