Just finished up this painting for a friend. I'm still not sure about the dog on the right, I think she needs a little bit of work on the highlights, but overall, I'm glad it's (nearly) done!
Here's the original photo:

If these were my dogs, I would love this SO hard.  Heck, I like it pretty hard anyway.

I love this. At first I thought you had painted the dogs in a cartoony way, but then I saw the photo and they are naturally cartoony! Amazing likeness! I think the dog on the right looks great as is; the only thing I might do is darken the eyes just a tad.

Anyway, great job. I just featured this project on Craftster's Facebook page. Thanks for sharing.  Smiley

Thanks guys! I delivered the painting this morning and she loved it. The little guy on the right passed away a year ago this week, so the timing was perfect!

I had the exact same thoughts as Racky! "Hmm, kind of cartoony, but cute! Oh wait... that is EXACTLY what they look like!" hahaha great job!

OMG - they are goofily happy dogs - at first I thought you painted them like that to highlight their personalities - but then I see that in the picture, they truly do look that goofily happy and you captured it so well!  I love it!
