50s Housewife gingham circle skirt

So I got this amazing fabric from Ikea a while ago, and it was just hanging around in my sewing corner wondering what it was going to be? Then one day I was browsing a pin-up clothing website when this fabric jumped up and said "Ooo! Ooo! ME! I want to be a circle skirt! PLEASE!"

So, I obliged.

Then when it was made i thought it looked like it should probably belong to June Cleaver or something... so I wore it with a simple white tee, pearls, rose cab. earrings (made by me also) and felt like- hey where's my apron? I've got to bake cookies for Timmy's class and get this casserole over to the Jones'!

Or something.

Anyway, here it is!

Totally... though because it's made out of twill it's got enough volume for my curvy frame as is...

I love the shape this skirt has (and your whole ensemble). 

Have you ever tried using invisible zippers?  You might like how they look for skirts and dresses.  I also find they tend to go in nicer than regular ones, but that's just my opinion.

I have used invisible zippers... however, most of my notions tend to come from VV boutique (also known as Value Village...) and invisible zips are hard to come by there. I actually kind of liked the look of the visible zipper in this one, but other skirts would likely be better without being about to see the zipper.

I fully understand, and it really depends on the look you are going for which makes more sense.
