Yes, I also thought "my cat would love that".

I am trying to figure out how you did that.  Which way do the tabs run?  Are the tabs still flat?  What stitch did you use?  How many tabs did it take?  Did you follow an existing tutorial out there to join them?

A guestimate is that it took about 530 tabs in total and roughly skein of yarn to crochet it. All tabs are still flat, and crocheted together side-by-side. You can find basic tutorials as for how to crochet with poptabs, which I've followed here and here, but for this project I altered that since I was using poptabs of a different shape and to create the round bottom - basically I did three regular stitches into each hole of the tab creating a yarn border around each round of tabs and then crocheted the next round into the border. Sorry if it's making no sense, it's kind of hard to explain as I didn't have a tutorial or anything to go from. This much can be said though, crochet-wise you only need the most basic skills to pull off a project like this one as it's only single crochet and chains.

It's amazing! I love the combination of metal and yarn, and the structures you created with them! This is really pretty and I guess it's almost indestructible in daily use.
