I've been collecting empty toilet paper rolls for my garden, but my stash tends to diminish every time I have kids over. Toilet paper rolls really are excellent entertainment for children (and adults Grin). Give kids empty toilet paper rolls, scissors and some coloured pencils and they are happily creative for quite a while.

Owls made by my niece (she made bunnies and other animals too, but I don't have a picture of them, so you only get to see the owls.);

Off course I have to join them in demolishing my garden supplies:

I made this one from two rolls without glue. Now it sits on the kitchen table keeping an eye on the fruit bowl.

Thank you for your comments Smiley

Toilet paper rolls seem to be great for crafting partly because they are something that would be otherwise thrown away. The kids can do whatever they want to without worrying about wasting supplies (creativity stiffling perfectionism sometimes kicks in with "real" craft supplies). If they don't like the result they can either try to fix it or just try again with another roll.

I sound like I'm selling a book called "101 Amazing Toilet Paper Roll Crafts for Kids!" or the more academic variation: "Observations on The Advantages of Using Empty Toilet Paper Rolls to Foster Creativity in Children"...
