Good day All, I finally finished this Amy Butler Weekender Travel Bag I started in January.  My delay in finished came as I am not a great hand sewer. But I proved myself wrong.  I asked a friend to hand sew the interior to the exterior of the bag.  She told me NO, which I was cool with as I need to work on my hand sewing.  I am glad I did the hand sewing myself after all.  The exterior fabric (whole bolt) was given to me by a church member and the interior was bought at my local Joann Fabrics.  I used fleece interfacing instead of the Timtex(Peltex) to give the bag a more comfortable feel. I lined the pockets with the same fabrics!

Front has my nickname (given to me by my neighbor) machine embroidered!!

You must!! Just a hint: make the pattern pieces as you go. Once you make them it makes for easy construction of the bag. Use fusible fleece instead Timtex(Peltex) and wonder/binder clips to hold the pieces together while sewing.

Great job! You were much faster than I was when I used this pattern. Cheesy I actually found the hand sewing portion to be one of the better parts of putting this bag together! There were times sewing the outside where I almost threw my machine across the room. Cheesy I wonder if using fleece made it any easier for you?

OMG using the fusible fleece is so better than Timtex(Peltex). I will only make this bag with fusible fleece. I get fusible fleece on sale at Joann when all interfacing is 50% off.
