This necklace was made after seeing some beautiful copper wire pieces by the artist Finyx on Etsy, his work can be seen at http://www.etsy.com/shop/finyx

I received a length of gunmetal chain as a freebie with a purchase and wanted to use it to make a "manly" necklace that would go with pretty much anything in my closet. The wire was originally just a large gauge aluminum craft wire. Once the piece was bent into shape I painted it with black nail polish, then used sandpaper to sand away part of the wire. The end result looks very much like oxidized silver.

Fabulous!  The wirework is fantastic and the finish gives it a really polished, professional look.  Pinned!  <3

I have an Etsy store now, thanks to peer pressure: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MazikeenStudios
I'm also trying to make 7 things a week for a year.  http://mazikeenstudios.blogspot.com/  (Warning: this is usually pretty behind!)

I wish I was as gifted to bend wire as you are! Now I want this necklace so bad!
