So I have been delaying posting these because I couldn't figure out where they would go since they covered an odd mix of crafts and techniques, so I think here is the best place.  Both were made for round 2 of the prayer flag swap.

First the flag I made for susanab based on creativity.

I decided to knit the body of the flag since it was a material I hadn't seen for a prayer flag so it seemed to fit the creativity mold.  I also incorporated some painted stenciling for the letters spelling out creativity and then embroidered around them. and the quote is printed on fabric using an inkjet printer.

Up next is the flag I made for Eclectic Dreamer.

This one is based on passion and romance so I tried to use as many vintage delicate looking fabrics in colors that seemed romantic to me and sewed them into a mini quilt look, with a lace layover for the border.  Then I took a picture of a couple holding hands and altered it in photo shop to make it look more like a vintage illustration in coordinating colors (also printed on fabric with an ink jet printer) and finished it with with some hearts cut out of lace.

Let me know what you think.

It's a really cool idea to knit the base of the flag! I haven't seen that before. Both flags are really well done! Nice work Smiley.

Both flags look great. I especially love the quilted one. If you don't mind my asking, what is a prayer flag?
