Hello everyone

I promised a friend ages ago I'd make him a Fight Club soap, except that when I finally found the motivation, surprise ! The "mold" I found on the web wasn't actually a mold but an actual soap, I don't even know what happened in my head when I made the mistake. I searched for hours after that, only to find out that 20th Century Fox had made every homemade mold disappear from Etsy and similar websites.

So, I PROMISED. Too bad. Here is my DIY mold, and as you will see... that's a makeshift job. But it turned out not so bad, I hope you'll like it !

The sides aren't straight, it's a bit "shiny" because of the gelatin, but it could be worse =)

The logo has to be in embossed letters, so the mold is made in imprint.

12 layers of cardboard glued together. The cutter gave me blisters on my fingers -_- At first, I tried to cut into a thicker piece of cardboard, but I couldn't cut well the details and difficult parts, so I gave up.

gelatin + sugar

Makeshift job, I told you. This was a huge mess, I lost half of the batch... this was a BAD idea.

I can't wait to give my friend his gift, he seemed really excited when I showed him the pictures.
And if you guys have a better idea to make that kind of project, please oh please, tell me everything  Grin

Thanks for watching !

PS : English isn't my mothertongue and I used some specific words in this post, I hope I picked the right ones ! I'm sorry if you had trouble with some of my sentences, I do my best to get better  Wink

This is so very cool and your English is great!  I can tell that it isn't your first language but not because of any errors.  There are always little things that give people away, but hard to describe.  What is your original language?  I like the term "mother-tongue" and think I'll use it in the future.

Iheartcooking : Thank you very much ! I'm french, and the term "mothertongue" came from my english teacher when I was... well, younger =) (what is the right word, by the way ?)

Nick EU : I can't remember about the dimensions. I looked on the web to copy the original one though.
