These are so beautiful!! I didn't even know something like this was possible with beads. I'm not surprised to hear that the gifts were adored Smiley.

Thank you all so much!  When the thread doesn't fight every step of the way, they don't even take as long as I thought they would.

Update too:
Mom called me at lunch to rave over how much she loved her gift!  She got a couple of beaded snowflakes too, and was super thrilled.  Smiley  She really thought it was made with really thin wire, so I got to tell her all about it.  I'm SO glad she loved it.

I think I may have set the bar awfully high...  I need to think about something cool for Mother's Day now.  I'm so thrilled that she liked it!

I think we need to have a smiley who drops his jaw and an envious smiley.  lol.  those are AWESOME and I am so jealous of your talent.  I'm no where near this stage of beading yet.  great job!
I bet you could give it a shot!  Smiley  These little triangles are a lot more simple technique-wise than they look.  If you are comfortable doing even count peyote, particularly the cylinder style (one continuous loop, like making those amulet pouch type necklaces) it most likely will work out.  The worst thing that can happen is having to cut the thread out and start over.  Nothing wrong with that, and beading thread isn't too expensive.  Wink

The worst part was stopping and starting the threads by weaving them through.  I really wrecked a needle after just one box thanks to the stops and starts in the box sides.  I made it through the second box with it, and now it looks more like messed up spare jewelry wire than anything needle-like.

Thank you all again for looking.  Smiley
I think I might try making one for myself with size 15 delicas.

I'm not surprised your mom liked it.  Wink  it really is gorgeous and well done.

even count peyote is no problem for me flat or cylinder.  it's odd that gets me.  I may have a pattern for something kinda like this, so I'll have to take a look.

messed up spare jewelry wire??  that's encouraging.  Cheesy  I've never bent a needle that badly, but I did put a hook on the end of one.  Roll Eyes

I'm just learning to bead, so I'm super impressed with your boxes.  Gorgeous colours, beautiful results.
