Inspired by a Martha Stewart project, I crafted my boyfriend a giant heart shaped box of treats.  I didn't like the idea of candy sitting in an exposed box without it being individually wrapped, so I just picked out some random little treats at the store.  I also wanted to include some useful items because they are highly sought after commodities in this house.

Along with the box I included a card that I made.  Thanks to the Netflix we have been watching/rewatching through the Stargate series of shows for the past several months and I knew upon first thought that would be the theme of this year's card.

I cut a wonky circle and attached it to the card with an eyelet.  I used red emboroidery floss attached to the back of the card to hold it shut.

It pops up.  I printed out the ring and DHD on some left over shimmery card stock.  Pretty!  (In person, not so much in the picture!)

I find that crafts are very good time wasters. If they aren't for you, then you are one of those rare individuals who know what you're doing!

Love the gift box, and your stargate card would make my teenage son squeal! It shimmers just like the "real" thing!

I am madly in love with that card!! I need crafty people in my life to make me these types of things. Sometimes being the crafty one sucks lol.

I had to post this to my facebook, everyone should see this.

Love the Stargate theme! I just named my Guinea Pig "Daniel Jackson." (We're so cool!)

Thanks, guys!  For the record, if I was cool enough to have a guinea pig I'd probably name him Daniel Jackson, too.  Or maybe Thor?!
