I decorated a shoebox with parts and pieces from old games, and turned it into a jewelry box!

This is the bottom of it, which has Scrabble letter trays attached for legs.

Inside, there are some trays to hold the jewelry.

One of them is from a game box, designed to hold some of the pieces. The other is a stationery box, with game pieces attached as legs.

Here is what the box looked like beforehand:

I didn't take hardly any in-progress photos, but here is one, at least. It shows how I cut a hole in the side of the lid, for the drawer.

A lot of times, my crafts do not live up to the "vision" I have in my head, but this one was an exception -- I really like how it turned out!

This is really clever. I like the little drawer and the Scrabble tray. So many lovely details.  It would also be a great place to keep game pieces.  Can't believe it was just a shoe box to start with.

I love how you've used children's game pieces to create something mostly adult focused - a jewellery box. It could be like girls taking their memories onwards with them into adulthood. I could imagine a similar idea for a tool chest - so the idea would be good for all!  Smiley

This is really cool! And I totally forgot about Parcheesi! Now I'll have to go to my grandma's and dig around in the "kids closet" for it!

Love it, and most of us have games that are missing pieces. Great job on this.

This came out great--you would never know it started out as a shoebox.  Nice work!

Thanks for all the nice comments! I had some leftover scraps from the game boards and had to turn them into notebooks/journals.
