Here is a Valentines Wreath I made recently.  I stuffed fabric hearts and then punched holes on the sides of each to thread them on Thick colored floral wire that I found at the Dollar store.  The wire is a bright pink, though you do not see much of it in the picture.  I ran out of it and had to use standard wire for the door hanger.  I used frayed fabric as the ribbon in between the hearts.
