Baby #3 is on the way, so I've been steadily working away at the nursery.
We have a Miyazaki theme going on, and after seeing this tutorial: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=292952.msg3329977#msg3329977  I knew exactly how I wanted to decorate one of the walls!

(Sorry for the poor image quality!)

I started out with white conTact paper, and then sketched out the Totoros. Next, my partner and I painted them. When they dried, I went over the outlines with a sharpie, and TA-DA!

Here are some close ups:

I'm thinking about adding two more, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.

Oh, these are sooo adorable Smiley My future child (got a few years to go) will be getting a woodland themed nursery, but I might have to sneak in a Totoro-esque character as well Wink

Also a brilliant method for making a mural. Thanks for sharing!

You don't need a permit for a glue gun.

I love it! Ugh, so cute! My daughter LOVES totoro! She was a totoro for Halloween, but no one knew what it was so I just told them she was a bunny-squirel. I might have to make my kiddo some big poster-board cut out totoro's for her birthday! great idea.
