It's been a while since I have posted any of my sculptures here, so I thought that I would share some pics of my latest unicorn. I just put some of the finishing touches on the base yesterday. The unicorn has been finished since August last year.

He is completely hand sculpted from polymer clay and epoxy over a wire and foil armature, and hand painted with acrylic paint. No molds were made or used in the making of this sculpture. All of the plants except the flowers were hand made from polymer clay. The hair is Tibetan lamb's wool.

The unicorn is 12 in long and around 6 1/2 in tall without the base. The base is 9x7 in wooden oval.
There is a brass peg in his base, which fits into a hollow brass tube in his leg, that allows him to stand on one leg.

Close up of the snail, if you didn't see him. He is about 1 cm long. I sculpted him too (but not the shell, it is real), he even has eye stalks and feelers or what ever they are called.

Amazing! I love all details you have put into him, specially that little snail Cheesy

How you managed to get acrylics such clear and glossy, is there a coat of lack on paint?
