I received from Deece! She picked 'sunflowers' from my list of themes and made this amazing quilt:

It's just perfect! She nailed the colours I love. I actually have a bedspread that has these exact shades of yellow, green, and red in it, so I'm going to be hanging this in the bedroom to compliment the bedspread. Thanks so much!

It's hard to see all the techniques that Deece used. I think I see some outline embroidery, some thread painting, some applique, maybe some painting or fabric printing on the centers? Would really like to know more about this piece.

I agree. I'd love to know more, too.

I love the sunflowers Smiley I think it is neat that she used different techniques for the flowers.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

I used raw-edge fusible applique on 3 of the flowers, thread painting on the bottom left one, the top left is outlined in thread and then filled in with paint and the top right is just an outline with thread.  At first I was going to applique all of them, but then I decided I wanted more texture and variation so I added the other techniques.

It wasn't exactly what I had planned, but I like the variety.  My favorite is the thread painted flower. Smiley

ETA: The centers of the 3 applique flowers are batiks so the dots were part of the fabric and all the stitching was done free-motion on my machine (I didn't have the patience to do any hand embroidery/stitching Smiley ).

I received today from tapestrymlp  the most  beautiful MAQ! Thank you so much. She told me she was inspired by my nature theme, but I didn't have any more clues than that.   This is what she created:

My daughter loves manatees....and she just adored it, and wanted it in her room. Then my son said he didn't have any manatees and wanted it in his room.  And, although the colors are PERFECT for my room, it will most likely make it's home in our living room so everyone can enjoy it.  Here's a close up of the fabric painting on the manatee:

I love love love it! And, I love how  you put the beads on throughout the quilt. It's stunning! Thank you so much!

If I can get my hubby to hang it in a decent amount of time, I'll post an action shot.
