My mom said I can have my own sewing machine now, but I have no idea about how to choose it, I want to find one easy to use and not very expensive, I wonder if anyone can give me some suggestion about the brands and models which may good for a beginner, I intend to use it make simple projects.

I have a brother xl-3750. They run around a hundred bucks. It's very easy to use and has held up very well. It also is sturdy enough to take on heavy fabrics and bigger projects...and when you are ready to do complex stuff it will be able to handle it.

Only bad thing I have to say about it is that the thing does not shir.

Wanna know, just ask.
