Hummus!  Shocked wow, it is so good!

This is the recipe I used in a "Magic Bullet" Blender
1 Can of Chickpeas
1/2 Cup of Chicken Broth
1 Clove of Garlic (You can add more to taste)
Dash of Paprika
1 TBS of Olive Oil

I'll post a updated pic of the finished dip.  Undecided

Been doing this at my house, too.  It's even cheaper if you buy a bag of dried chickpeas, cook em up, and refrigerate them.  I usually make two or three flavors at a time.  You can steam up leftover (or almost yucky) veggies and throw them in the hummus, too.  Then you'll have "gourmet" hummus on the cheap!   Wink  It'll be in pretty colors, too, and we all know that pretty colors are what it's all about! Cheesy

Here's an extra flavor suggestion: lemon juice and basil. Recently had some commercial hummus with that flavor. Awesome. Can't wait to try this recipe.

I just made some of this tonight and I've got it chilling in the frig for a get-together tomorrow. I tried a little bit so far and I really like it! But I made a fairly good sized bowl of it (lots of people tomorrow), so it was 5 cans of chickpeas and 1 1/2 cans of chicken broth. I added in a small dash of hot sauce.

I don't know what it is with people and their dashes of paprika or hot sauce. Tongue I add about a teaspoon of chilli powder to mine per cup of chickpeas.

kstaron, basil is a *great* idea. I'll have to try that. Cheesy I always add lemon or lime juice (depends on what's available and good), but the basil is completely new for me. Smiley

In a batch without the basil, I'd suggest adding cumin. Adds very nice flavour. And tahini, aka sesame seed paste. Not too much since it can overpower - say, a tablespoon to about a cup or so of chickpeas.

I just made some!  (I had just invested in a new stick blender...)

I also had some roasted tomato left over.  I ended up chucking some into the bowl, and grinding away with it.  Very delicious...I'm waiting to use some for supper tonight!
