My parents bought us a lovely (used) nursery set for our first little one due in April. It's solid, beautiful, maple wood and I love it. I hate that it's previous tenant took a ball point pen to it, whose traces I cannot remove. Hairspray, alcohol, nail polish remover, goof off, baking soda, vinegar, wood filler, all haven't touched it. It's slightly gouged into the wood, and I'm afraid I'm at the stain-or-paint-it phase. Do any of you crafty divas have ideas? I really would love to keep my maple nursery set.

I've seen some places recommend using regular toothpaste to try and get pen off. Or you could sand it.

I had amazing success using white baking soda toothpaste to get permanent marker off a varnished maple table. I made a shiny spot, so one of these days, I'll have to polish the whole thing Tongue
