I noticed it puffed more than fulled when I whacked the crap out of it.

:fiber terminology educator hat on:
That 'puff' is called 'blooming'.  Very descriptive and accurate of what happens.

Fulling vs Felting: I know these terms are really used interchangeable now, but just in case you run into a fiber person who is anal about using correct terminology, there is a difference.

(LOL!  Shocked is youse lookin' at me??  Huh   Cool LOL!)

Fulling is what happens to fabric (be it knitted, woven, crocheted)
Felting is what happens to fiber that is not yet fabric.

Now I just need to get a good lightweight spindle and work my way towards fingering weight yarns Tongue

Light weight spindles are a snap to make ...  Use a dowel rod for the shaft and something light weight for the whorl (canning lid, toy wheel, old CD, plastic lid, sculpey clay), a small cup hook (predrill dowel rod) and some hot glue.

It won't be the prettiest thing, but it works in a pinch!

Ooooh, so even though the fibre has been altered into yarn, it's felting because it's not fabric?

Nice hat, btw Tongue
