a few friends and I started bowling almost weekly, and this week while waiting to be picked up, I decided I had nothing to wear and needed a new outfit.  so I pulled out the remnant of purple plaid fabric  I picked up almost a year and a half ago and some mageneta knit and created this look.

the plaid was a bias print on I think a polyester interlocking knit, I like that it looked like it was sewn on the bias.  I used an existing jumper I had for inspiration, I copied the measurements kinda for the bodice, added darts, and attached the full width of the fabric at about 22" long for the bottom portion of the dress.  I made 2 tubes for the straps and added them on.  I was glad it was stretch material and I didn't need to add a zipper.

The leggings are a bit of a mess at the top.  you can't see it under the dress thankfully.  I wore them out right after sewing and they were loose and baggy, I still need to make a few more adjustments to them before I wear them out again.  in the photo I took it at 1am after resewing the legs smaller so they looked more like leggings and less like pyjama pants.  I followed the instructions for Genius leggings in the book Little Green Dresses http://www.amazon.ca/Little-Green-Dresses-Original-Repurposed/dp/1600851215/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359254475&sr=8-1

Thanks for looking C&C appreciated.

So cute!  Good work.

Scholars and artists...differ most importantly in the way their knowledge is come by.  Scholars get theirs with conscientious thoroughness along projected lines of logic; poets...stick to nothing deliberately, but let what will stick to them like burrs where they walk in the fields.

Such a fun look.  I love the jumper (fabric and style).
Good for you sewing leggings, I've been meaning to and have never gotten around to it.
