I started this cowl for MareMare back in July when she and I spent a crafty weekend together in WA with another friend. I had intended to finish it quickly so she could enjoy it as soon as fall arrived but... well... that didn't quite happen. I finally sewed the buttons on today, just 7 months later Smiley. Better late than never, I suppose!

The pattern is from Malabrigo Booklet 3 (http://www.malabrigoyarn.com/booklet3/). I used Cascade 128 yarn that I purchased from a shop near where we were staying in Pt Townsend.

I sewed the buttons onto the end because I liked the idea of wearing it like an infinity scarf or even unbuttoning and wearing it like a normal scarf. I realize now that I probably should have sewn the buttons onto the side instead to make it easier to wear as a cowl (Mare, feel free to move them if you want Smiley).

The pattern includes a fair amount of cabling but otherwise it's really simple and the repeat is easy to remember.

I plan to make one of these for myself this year. It will probably take me at least 7 months to finish mine too!
