I have been making custom coasters (tumbled travertine) using stazon ink.  I sell my coaster sets and am now beginning to get specialized requests.

Recently I had an inquiry about stamping/stenciling on ceramic mugs for a local business.  They want their business initials (monogram) done on the mugs.  I know I can stencil it and I would use stazon ink and then bake the mugs for 30 minutes.

My question is this ....
The stenciling would only be on the exterior of the mugs.  Would the mugs still be food and beverage safe?  I need an answer to this before I agree to do the mugs.  Thanks in advance.

God Bless,

Given enough coffee, I could rule the world!

You probably should contact Tsukineko - the makers of the ink.

Also, when you do the stamping/inking, you can also do it so that it is well below the lip of the mug so that there is no risk of ingestion - like a good inch or two below.
