Pics are fixed.  Hope you enjoy Grin

One of the things that I tend to hoard collect is tiles.  Random tiles that folks have given me and such.  So when I needed to do some kind of floor covering on the raw floor board that was exposed when my Hub kicked out a wall and extended my laundry room into a closet on the other side, I thought it a great time to use them.  It was my first time tiling and grouting and I was rather nervous about it all, but I'm quite happy with the way it came out...

The Left Side Tiles

The Right Side Tiles

Since it was not a part of the floor that will be walked on, I didn't worry about the different heights of the tiles, so the grout is not very even either.  I am considering pouring resin or some such over the lowest parts to make it all more level...if it ends up bugging me.  Here's a few close ups of my favo sections.

The penny is a 1940 penny that I found when I was taking out the old floor.  The looney (Can. one dollar coin) is from 2011, which is the year we bought the house.  It has a wild life scene with stylized animals on it like moose and beaver.

This section is a porcelain frog that I have been carrying around for over 20 years.  The LUCKY beer bottle cap is from the ground around the local mechanics shop.  They seem to sprout up like mushrooms around that building Grin

And this is a glass dolls eye with all the gold flecked tiles that I could find in my collection.  It's a lot more shiny in real life.

And here is a larger pic of why we took out the wall.  So I could have a proper wash tub.  I'm so excited!  The Hub is working on the stand today and then we just have to plum it in.

I'm re doing the whole room into suerealLand: the surrealist laundry room.  Since the Hub never goes in there, I am doing what ever I feel like color and deco wise.  ANd once I get it all done, I will post about that all then.  I just couldn't wait to show off my new floor...and my new tiling skills Grin

Thanks for looking Grin

Oh, I can't wait for the magic mods to fix the pictures, so I can see what you've been up to - but the first picture looks very promising Wink
