Hi folks! I'm 31-year-old guy from Montreal and a new cross stitcher. I started in December thanks to subversivecrossstit ch.com and took to it at once.

I have a long history of starting creative endeavours, hitting a wall, becoming frustrated, and dropping them, so the fact that I was able to start stitching basically at once and turn out pieces that look the same in real life as in my head is truly awesome. Every day I get impatient to get back to stitching, which is a very new experience for me creative-wise. I've got two jobs and am going to university full time, so I spend a lot of time cross stitching on the metro on my way to school.

At any rate, here's my first piece (besides that first subversivecrossstit ch.com kit). My mom had mentioned (before I started) that she'd always wanted this quote cross stitched, so her wish was my command -- I managed to plough through this in two days before Christmas, lol!

This is lovely.  I bet your Mum was impressed.  A great Christmas gift.

That's really cool!  It looks fantastic for a first piece too.  Smiley  I bet your Mom loved it.

I can't wait to see what else you come up with.

Looking to de-stash cross stitch magazines, particularly Cross Stitch Gold or New Stitches?  Please drop me a line!  I'd love to swap or buy some missing from my library!
