I don't know about you guys, but a huge issue with my healthy eating plan is my child.  So we purchased Crunch a Color.  It's a card game that helps us all get our veggies in daily.  You can change it up to fit your lifestyle and food needs.  Meal times are no longer a battle and my husband and I are eating healthier.  If you've got kids I recommend (you can get it at amazon).

That sounds like a great way to get the kids to eat their veggies! I don't have kids but I still love the idea of making healthy eating fun. Most things are better when they are fun Smiley.

My nephs all love broccoli...when they were little I said broccoli was little trees and they love eating little trees now!

One of them threw a full-on fit in Applebee's one day because he saw another little kid had broccoli and he didn't!

that's awesome Mare Cheesy

I'm definitely way off track on healthy eating and need to get back to more fruit and veggies as well as drinking more water during the day...some days I go without eating a single piece of fruit and no water at all (I drink many cups of green/white tea but still..)  I also need to do a cleanse and pinpoint what is giving me stomach aches every time I eat a full meal Tongue   kinda putting that off, even though a couple of weeks of extreme clean eating makes me feel fantastic I CAN'T give up coffee and cheese and continue to function in this world.

I'm with you, AM. There is no way I could ever give up cheese. I would happily live off of cheese, bread and salt Smiley.

Mare, that is so great that the boys already have healthy eating habits.

We had breakfast for dinner last night and I made these whole wheat oatmeal pancakes...

They were so yummy that we made another batch for breakfast this morning!

Skipped lunch at a toddler birthday party (pizza and cake) and came home to make a deeeelicious BLT and avocado salad over rice.  Yummy in my tummy.

Nope.  Not at all.  I'm grain free and it sucks.  But every time I go back to some kind of grain, everything goes all belly up.  And the worst for me is when I eat grains, all I think about is food..all the time...endlessly.  If I stay completely away from grains, I can think about other things besides food.  Corn is the very worst for me.  SO best luck to you CLM.  I'm a carnivore, so I eat lots of meat, cheese, and eggs as filler when I should be eating veg. so at least you are up on eating fruits and veg.  That should help at least.  And I recently discovered coconut flour, which has made it so I can make some baked things Grin

I've switched to low carb so I'm mostly grain free (I do have an occasional low carb flour tortilla). At least we can share recipes maybe? I made some awesome almond meal crackers the other day. I added 2 T sesame seeds and 1/2 teaspoon each onion powder and garlic powder, and sprinkled with kosher salt before baking.

I've found that keeping almond meal, flax seeds (I grind them fresh into meal when I want to use them), and coconut flour on hand lets me make most recipes I stumble across.

I made these brownies the other night, they were pretty good. I subbed splenda for the honey and just did a dash of cinnamon and topped with walnuts.
