Details of swap:
What are your resolutions this year? Is one of them using what you have and skipping a trip to the craft/fabric/art supply store? In this swap, you will create little helpful reminder dotees for your swap group so they can stick to their resolutions and feel positive throughout the year, looking at these little hanging reminders.
Dotees are small dolls, usually with a face, but no arms or legs, that have a loop for hanging and sometimes a tail with beads or charms to help convey the spirit of the doll. Dotees can be made from felt, fabric, paper, yarn, paper mache, recycled or found objects - anything that is less than 6" in length. Arms and legs can be included, of course, if that helps craft your message. And for me, tail are not required, but some folks think they are an essential part of these little dolls.
One goal of this swap is that you spend NOTHING on materials, only postage (and DC's if you're in the USA). You have the satisfaction of using stuff you already have and helping to motivate a fellow Craftster meet his/her goals.
Each swapper will make 2 or 3 dolls to send out to their partners and receive 2 or 3 in return. The best part of this swap is the ooohing and ahhhing in the Swap Gallery, so please check the dates of crafting and sending and check that you have all of your camera bits so you can photograph your dolls before sending (this is helpful if something goes missing or your partner can't post right away) and then taking pics when you receive. COMMUNICATION is also important, as in all swaps, just a quick hello in the discussion thread to let us know you're working on your dolls and as a place to ask questions or find support if you're stuck on something.
Some people like to send all their dolls at one time, and some send as they finish them - do what suits you. But keep in touch with me and your partners, so this is a happy and easy swap.
