So I will be knitting myself a little shawl/caplet for my wedding in April. I want to make it out of a yarn I normally wouldn't use, a nice little splurge.
Here is the problem, I don't know enough about yarns with yak or mink in them to make a decision.  The yarns I'm looking at both are a blend of their respective fiber and wool.
Here are some of my questions:
Which would be warmer?
Since it will have some lace, which would have better memory so it can look all fancy?
Is one more easy to work lace with? Why?
(would knowing where I want to buy from help answer any of the above questions?)

Even though the mink is so soft and luxurious the fibers are really short, so the mink yarn tends to break a lot from my experience.  The yak will be easier to work with because of that alone.  I'm not sure on the warmness part, but I do know that yak is very warm.

Thanks, I do tend to hold the yarn a bit firmly, so the yak does sound like the better option.
