My Little 'Zilla - My Little Pony custom

I made this a while back for a custom toy show. It is from a white blank My Little Pony. I pulled the mane and tail and used a wire support for the tail. I sculpted directly on the pony using sculpey. A common technique to "baking" the clay on the figures is to boil the entire pony to harden the clay. This worked well. After some light sanding to blend any seems, I airbrushed the base green and did the details by hand. I used acrylic paint.

Lovely little dragon. I particularly like the lifelike eye. And can I too add my  thanks for the tip on boiling.
One question - do you actually chuck it in the boiling water or do you put it in a bag or steam it?

I use tongs to submerge the entire object straight into rapid boiling water. Time varies depending on thickness. I generally use Super Sculpey, but I have cured Primo and and Regular Sculpey as well using the boiling technique.

Everyone does it a bit different depending what type of plastic you are sculpting on to, so there is some trial and error to it.
