I'm not sure I'll be joining but I'll be lurking definitely!

Quick questions for all the sewers out there: What fabric would you recommend that doesn't wrinkle or is hard to wrinkle? I'm looking to get some fabric to act as a background in my lightbox and need some suggestions. Thanks!

For a lightbox, I'd choose something matte, like the "alova suede" or microsuede that you can find at joann. Polyesters are generally (but not always) going to have less of a tendency to wrinkle. If you fold and press the fabric with your fingernail at the store and it doesn't hold the press, then you will be ok.

I'm thinking about signing up. I have been making a lot of pottery, way more than I have cupboard space for. What sort of ceramic things are you gals (and guys? maybe?) interested in?

I like bowls.   Smiley    Small ones for jewelry, larger ones for yarn.   Smiley   Can you make a yarn bowl... the kind with the cutout on the side so you can slide the yarn in or out of it?

I am a big pottery fan as well.  I like functional pieces -- bowls, mugs, etc. Cheesy

sheepBlue, I really think you should sign up for STS.  You know you want to.

I made Anna Maria Horner's cute pincushion caddy tonight.  It was great fun! I'm going to make another one tomorrow.   I also knitted a bunny for a friend who is having her first child this week.  That was hard work.  Cheesy  I will post pics of both items tomorrow.

yes, the real type!
My husband's friend mentioned them to me and I said I would like some. A few days later he showed up on my porch with a HUGE box of them....like 10 racks of antler. I don't have enough space to put them all, but I do have some crafts planned for them (I was thinking yarn-wraped antlers or an antler LOOM!) but I have more than enough to pass on to a loving home.

I would also love a yarn bowl.

Thanks for the info!

LxM - You could also cut the antlers into slices and make buttons!!

A2K - Haha, I haven't ruled out joining yet, but my schedule with swapping and life is getting a bit filled up so we'll see.  Wink
