Lunch with the Princess'

So we are going on our first family vacation in 10 days to Disney World and a Disney cruise. While at Disney world we will be having lunch with the princess'. I wanted to get my daughter a nice dress for the lunch, but the Disney ones weren't what I was looking for. So I decided to make this for her. I designed the pattern myself and referenced a few pictures online.

I made the hat, did all the embroidery and added some glass beads. It was quite hard to make and I had to do a lot of touch ups as well as asking for some help along the way.

But I'm very happy with how it turned out. This was my first time creating a pattern from scratch. I also learned a lot from it. As you all know it gets very hard to teach yourself some of this stuff when the supplies are so expensive. I didn't realize how heavy the fabric would get, which made it hard to be as poofy as I wanted.
I did the roses on my embroidery machine, they are from http://www.designsbyrothney.com/. She does really nice organza flowers that I love to add to everything.

Thanks so much for the great comments. It was quite stressful when things weren't quite looking right and you don't know why. I am very glad it came together in the end. There was a few times I just wanted to scrap it and run to the Disney store.

So much prettier and better made than any of the official Disney stuff.  Love the white and gold combination. I hope you get some pictures of her dining with the princess too.  Looks like she is pretty happy with her new dress.
