Finishing with firewire

Been lurking for a while but now I have a question

I have decided that I absolutely despise tying knots (and that I also suck rather badly at it).  What other alternatives do I have with firewire for securing the line and finishing off?

What type of beading are you planning to do? 
If you are beadweaving with firewire, you can always end up weaving it back into the piece to finish the end rather than knotting.  It is very secure and works super well!  I made some beaded boxes out of delicas, and used that method.  Both boxes came out really well and seem to be holding up. 

I have also dabbed knots with clear nail polish after tying them to help them hold better when working on bead netting projects. 

If you are doing something else with larger beads, maybe you could try using some crimp beads to catch your tails?

I thought crimp beads would damage the firewire? 

I'll try weaving the tails back through, would this be strong enough for seed bead designs made into earings?
