Edward Gorey Fact:

In the last few years of his life, Edward Gorey made many "Figbash" dolls which he sewed himself using various fabrics and filling with rice. He tagged and signed them all. I remember the auctions on ebay when he was still making them, they went for a lot even then. I remember the auction that went "This will be the last round of Figbashes." I knew then I'd never get one.....not to mention when one went for over 100 grand.

So he would probably have loved the idea of us all on Craftster crafting away with his themes.

Edward Gorey went by only one name, but many aliases. Most of his aliases are anagrams of Edward Gorey. Some of them were also plays on words, or translations of Edward Gorey into other languages:

Edward Gorey Fact #3

He left most of his estate to dog, cat, bat and other animal protective societies. He himself usually had more than 15 cats at a time living with him. Some of them still live at his home, which is now a museum.
