3rd Birthday Strawberry Tea dress

I'm realizing I don't really take the time to post what I make in the forum, so I'm trying to solve that problem... So here's another dress!




This might be my favorite dress I ever made. It was for my daughter's 3rd birthday. She was able to wear it on her 4th summer as well, she's 4 on those pictures.
I just felt in love with the fabric and bought a fat quarter bundle. Arrived home, I’ve stared at it for some days. It patiently waited for me to get inspired. Then, in a flash, I’ve started cutting the piece and it came alive that very night, maybe just a day before her birthday.

I don’t know what made me cut that huge hole in the back but it turned just like I wanted it to and I had the perfect strawberry button to go with it. I still adore that strawberry fabric. I chose it for her birthday crown and even made dolls with it. This is the kind of dress that makes me wish for another girl so it can be worn again, because it's been waiting in a box for almost a year now!
