Okay, did anyone else see the super short but still awesome Star Trek trailer during the superbowl? I'm now more convinced than ever that it's going to be Gary Mitchell, not Khan who is the villian. (The blond who looks like Elizabeth Dehner also makes me think it's that.) Any other theories out there?

Also, Any body know of cool Trek inspired crafts? I found an awesome tutorial for how to make a tri deck chess board.

OOH I'd love that tute! I was wondering about Trek inspired crafts too. I'm a big Star Trek fan but the only crafts I know of  just have the insignia on them. Maybe that's why there should be a swap, so we can think of cool ideas!

I have not done a swag in a long while but this would definitely be very tempting! I agree there definitely is a need for more Trek crafting out there...Smiley

Here's the link to build the board : http://www.therpf.com/f9/star-trek-3d-chess-set-build-finished-132541/

and here's a link to the rules: http://www.chessvariants.org/3d.dir/startrek.html

I hope that helps get the creative juices flowing. Cheesy  I think it's sad that you see so little stuff from the Star Trek world. It's such a rich universe with so many creatures, traditions, and ships, that the crafting possibilities should be endless. We definitely need to increase the amount of crafted Star Trek items!

Also, does anyone have any good ideas for questions to put on the questionairre?

I'd totally be down for this!! Apparently they just released a bluray version of several of the seasons, so my husband has been watching TNG all over again just to keep him from wanting to get bluray XD

I love TNG so much! I'm having to really fight to keep myself from actually buying the bluray versions myself. I'm  actually working on making a jacket like the ones they wear in the movie First Contact. I've always thought they looked incredibly neat, and warm. My sewing machine is currently on the fritz though, so I'm mostly working on the pattern right now.

I'm not sure if I will have time, but I might be interested in this.

What would you be thinking for item numbers/size?

So many ways to go with Trek.  Re-introduced Goose to it, he is taking to it a little more than I expected.  Last night's conversations involved how much he like Q and questions about why people were going to be naked at Troi's wedding.

kjlutz: I'm thinking a four point swap with extras allowed if your partner consents. I don't want people to feel pressured to do extras or feel bad because someone sent them extras and they didn't make any for their partner.

I'm going to open the swap up in a few days (March 1st) and then keep the sign ups open for a week or so. I'm going to try and post a few Star Trek crafts and recommend the swap. Maybe I can interest some other trek lovers into joining us Cheesy

The dates for the actual swap will be March 9th (at the latest) till April 15th... does that seem long enough to everyone? Should I extend it? Shorten it? Try something all together different?

Also, is anyone thinking about going to see The Next Generations: "The Best of Both Worlds" in theaters on April 25th?

Any thoughts on setting it up based on item size and number instead of points?
