A Jack Sparrow lapquilt that I made for my sister in laws birthday as my OWL project in the HP Winter Semester craftalong. Im sure you can guess she is a huge Johnny Depp fan.



It was definitely a much bigger undertaking than I first thought. Its made of thousands of 2 inch squares, one of those ideas that sounds fine until you start cutting and sewing it together.

In Progress Pic:


To make the pattern I took a photo of the Captain and then turned him into squares. Here is my Pattern, as I worked on it I started cheating and eliminating some of the rows because otherwise I wasnt sure I was ever going to finish in time.

Once I finished my husband and our bird practically rejoiced to see the sewing machine being put up. I am officially quilted out for a while after this. Thanks for looking!

oh my goodness! That is fantastic. What a lucky sister in law you have that you would spend so much time making such a fantastic quilt...I can't even imagine sewing that many 2" squares, and looking so good! Well done.
