Yesterday I whipped up this hat while I was watching Vampire Diaries (and some Parenthood episodes) very quick for today's bad hair day.

The pattern is star crossed slouchy beret, but it did not get slouchy at all. The designer suggests worsted weight yarn and mine was bulky but it came out like a beanie size. But i love it and it is a great alternative to bad hair.

They are splendid cables and they make the hat look great. I would imagine that the cables look better on a beanie than a slouchy hat too.

It looks like a wavy pond in that beautiful blue color. I bet it looks great on!

It still looks great, probably using the heavier yarn makes it 'stiffer' and not as slouchy. But it's a great looking hat anyway.

Lovely cabling...and the yarn does show off the stitching nicely as well!
